SONG OF THE WEEK

Happy happy Monday.

I can’t believe January is almost over? I’m not really sure where it went.

There has been a lot of new music releases and tour announcements lately. I’m kinda freakin out. The Faster Horses Festival lineup gets announced tomorrow and I already have a hotel booked. (CAN’T WAIT.) Rascal Flatts are going on tour with Dan+Shay. Zac Brown Band is touring with OneRepublic. Keith Urban is going on tour with Kelsea Ballerini. I can’t keep up. (And neither can my bank account.)

Speaking of Keith Urban. This weeks SONG OF THE WEEK.

Parallel Line – Keith Urban

If you like Ed Sheeran, you will like this song. (By the way did you see he got engaged??) It has a slow, soulful, heartfelt vibe with a mix of both slow guitar strumming and electric guitar riffs. His voice almost reminds me of Ed Sheeran’s in it as well.

Keith announced his future album, Graffiti U. And will hit the road on the Graffiti U Tour alongside Kelsea Ballerini.

I saw Keith last year and he puts on such a good show. I have been wanting to see Kelsea Ballerini for a while too, so I’m pretty excited that this tour is coming near me.

Let me know what you think about the song.

You can also leave song recommendations in the comments! I love new music!

Have a happy week.

SONG OF THE WEEK

Happy snowy Monday from Michigan.

I have been super busy with the start of my winter semester and work, but I promise that there will be some different blog posts coming up very soon!

Meanwhile, one of my absolute favorite duos came out with a song last week and holy cow. I have had it on repeat.

Tequila – Dan + Shay

These guys work so so hard writing music and touring the world for their fans. They do NOT get enough credit. I met them a few years ago and they are the sweetest and most humble people on this earth. They are always replying to fans on social media and chatting with them. They treat you like they’ve known you for years.

I have seen them 4 times? (I think) And their live shows are unbelievable. They have this way of getting the crowd SO pumped up and whenever I go to their shows I never want them to end.

This song is a part of their new chapter and it somehow makes you miss someone you didn’t even know you missed. (If that’s even possible.)

My favorite part is when their vocals shoot up to sing “SKY HIGH IN COLORADO.” That entire verse is so good. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, GO LISTEN!

They are currently stuck at #7 on All Genres on ITunes and have kept their spot at #1 on the Country charts for the past couple of days. So, I encourage you to go listen and if you like the sound of it, download their song on ITunes so they can keep crawling up that All Genre chart. They deserve it.

Stay tuned this week for a couple new posts. (Room update and how shooting my first show went.) If you missed my first room post you can click here.

Until then I will be hibernating in my house until the sun and warm weather come back. If you live somewhere warm please send some my way.

Thanks for reading friend.

SONG OF THE WEEK

Happy Monday.

Today is back to work, back to school, and back to reality for a lot of y’all. It’s rough I know. But, it’s a new year and I promise good things are ahead.

I’m excited because this is my last full semester at community college. (Yay!) After this, I have (hopefully) 2 classes to take for spring semester and then I am proudly taking a year off. A lot of people say that taking a year off is a bad idea because you lose interest and it’s hard to get back into the groove of going to school. But, I am not the type of person to quit things and I am excited to continue my education. I just thought this would be a good time to learn a little bit more about the world. Travel. Save some more money. And ultimately figure out exactly what I want to study at a higher level. Just need time to think.

Enough about my life at the moment.

I chose kind of a chill song for this weeks SONG OF THE WEEK and kind of relates to my life right now.

Broken Halos – Chris Stapleton

There are a couple lines in the song that stand out to me.

“Don’t go looking for the reasons
Don’t go asking Jesus why
We’re not meant to know the answers
They belong to the by and by”

Basically, just leave it to Jesus. He has things planned for you and you have to trust him in the future he has for you.

I have been learning to leave my trust in Jesus a lot more lately because I know I can’t control what the future holds. I constantly worry about the future and I get scared when I don’t have a plan. But, I have learned that you just have to trust God’s path and where He is guiding you. So, don’t question His ways!

There is my little preach for the morning. Not to mention, Chris Stapleton’s voice. Oh man.

Have a great week y’all.

Check out the progress on my room revamp here!

SONG OF THE WEEK

Ok. I know what you’re thinking…”Oh. She stans Taylor Swift…”

I don’t usually listen to this kind of music. (I liked Tswifts old stuff 1000x better, doesn’t everyone?) BUT. I have to admit I have been listening to her new album lately. Maybe because I am in need of new music, I just resorted to listening to her. Or maybe because I need to take my aggression(from finals) out over something? Couldn’t tell ya. Some of the songs make me cringe on there, not going to lie. But, there is one song……

This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things – Taylor Swift

This song is for your late night feels, crazy, insane girl vibes. This is such a petty song. I love it. This song throws so much shade (about her feud with Kanye obviously, but I don’t care about that). It’s just such a good song to scream, if you need to release some emotions. (Not saying I do that but). I feel like this whole other side of me comes out when I hear this song. I really don’t even know why.

Anyway! Just give it a try and if you don’t like it…oh well…see ya next Monday…

Meanwhile, I am going to force myself to get back to this 36 page math review I need to finish by tomorrow. Nice knowin y’all.

Thanks for reading. And click that follow button if you want to be updated every week on my favorite songs.

ALBUM? OF THE WEEK

DECEMBER?!

What? How? When?

Anyway, happy happy Monday y’all.

I’ve done a few updates to the blog. Started adding stuff to my photography page. You can check it out here!

So, I usually do a song of the week every Monday, to share the music I’m currently lovin’. I am sharing my favorite with you a little early this week because I am going to be extremely busy tomorrow.(Finals are coming. Help.)

This week I couldn’t chose just one song. Danielle Bradbery. How’d you do it? This album, I Don’t Believe We’ve Met, is a masterpiece.

This album is her sophomore album and took 4 years to produce. And it shows in every single song and lyric. You can tell she worked so hard on this album and put every single thought, tear, and smile into it.

I first fell in love with Danielle when she toured with Hunter Hayes in 2014. Some of you might recognize her from The Voice – Season 4. She is only 21. WHAT. (Not to mention, she is literally so pretty. You go girl.)

I’ve been listening to the new album since it came out a couple days ago. I can’t seem to choose any favorites off the album, they are all so good. I will tell you though, one that really hits me is “Worth it”.

It is just a raw outburst of emotions explaining that “I KNOW I’M WORTH IT”. Every girl should listen to this song if they’re thinking they aren’t enough. You are WORTH IT, trust me.

Every song after that is the same outpouring of emotions. Some of the other songs that really talk to me are; Sway, Laying Low and Potential. I’M JUST SPEECHLESS. It is such a worthy album. (Get it. Hah)

SONG OF THE WEEK

hunter-hayes-more-lyrics-622x320

Every Monday I will post a song I have been listening to. One that grabs my attention and one that will probably be on repeat for the next week. (or month) Music gives an insight of what is going on in my brain at the time. So, if you really want to get to know me, listen to these songs. They could just be random jams too. You never know.

So here it is. The first ever, SONG OF THE WEEK.

More – Hunter Hayes

The big HH created a debut album in 2011, “Hunter Hayes (Encore),” when he was most popular. He disappeared for a while, trying to find himself and his style of music. He has created a sophomore album (Storyline) and a few “projects” including “The 21 Project.”

I have been listening to his music since his debut album, I have been to 4 of his concerts and I have met him(he is the sweetest guy in the world) and not to mention, he sent me flowers on Valentines day last year…that’s a story for another time.

ANYWAY!

I hope you enjoy his most recent single, “More.” Another one of his sappy, perfect love songs. Ew.
